In this episode she explained one of the big influences in her track was the band Jamiroquai. As a house music DJ it can sometimes be difficult to admit you like commercial/radio/pop music, but with Dua it's easy because her tracks are funky, she has such a unique and sultry voice, and her videos are fun to mashup too. She has been one of my fav pop artists lately. A few weeks ago I was watching 'Song Exploder' on Netflix with the episode featuring Dua Lipa. I am super proud and excited about this mashup in particular. Something I'd like to start doing in 2021 (which hubby suggested) is to share my inspiration behind the mashup and what led me to put these tracks together. (As much as I love my old mashups, I confess sometimes it's difficult to listen back on them, compared to how polished they sound these days.) This year my mashups evolved a bit with my talented hubby mastering my tracks. Perhaps making mashups seems silly to some people (everyone's entitled to their own opinion), but I absolutely love pairing different genres, sounds and voices together along with the visual, video component - with the end aim of helping people to hear songs in a different light.

Somewhere between the birth of my two girls came my love for putting together mashup songs and videos. Since becoming a mum I had transitioned from not DJing live as much, to finding new ways to find inspiration and be creative with music. What set it apart was the style of the instrumental track I used: 'Marvin Gaye' by Charlie Puth. I love this mashup because it just ended up sounding so different than any other mashup I've ever made. GOAPELE CLOSER INSTRUMENTAL DOWNLOAD
**To listen & download free mashups: /music I loved pairing these two tracks together and had so much fun making this mashup!! I hope you enjoy this one. And the track had this familiar sample from a 90's alternative track I used to love called 'Your Woman' by White Town. (She's one of my favs right now!) She talked about how her song 'Love Again' was created and came together and how she took a lot of inspiration from Jamiroquai. Then I watched 'Song Exploder' on Netflix with the episode featuring Dua Lipa. I have probably made about 15 different versions, trying out various instrumental tracks, but just never felt that any of them were 'the one'.
